Go to Church or Be the Church ?

To be or not to be

To be, or not to be…” is the opening phrase of a soliloquy in the “Nunnery Scene” of William Shakespeare’s play Hamlet. In the speech, a despondent Prince Hamlet contemplates death and suicide. He bemoans the pains and unfairness of life but acknowledges the alternative might be still worse.

Our theme for this year is, “ENGAGE”, so what is more important to GOD, what is more important to you, what is more needful for the world: Going to Church or Being the Church?

My simple answer to take the title of this blog backwards- “Church to go”, whenever we attend a Church service, it should be, “to go”. In other words, take what you have been blessed with at the service and “go”tell it on the mountain, in the valley and on the streets, etc.

Then and only then will we, “Church the be.” We “be” the Church that JESUS has called us to “BE”. As we continue to, “Be the Church which is the Body of CHRIST” people will follow us to Church because we are the Church and people will follow us the Church as we follow Christ .

Let’s Get out of the Cage and ENGAGE!!
